Educational camp for creative youth “House of Stories”
Within the educational program of the Festival of American cinema “Independence” for support of youth and IDPs, 8–12 July 2024 in the American House in Lviv an educational camp for teenagers “House of Stories” took place, dedicated to creative self-expression through animation and video making.
During five days participants together with experienced trainers got acquainted with the basics of animation theatre and different techniques of animation art, learned to create characters, work with puppets and objects, and also mastered basic skills of photo and video shooting. The program of the camp combined practical classes, creative experiments and joint work on their own stories.
The camp became a space of open communication, creativity and support, where teenagers could share their own experience, find new friends and discover for themselves the possibilities of contemporary media art.
The result of the project was the creation of an animated short film Quokka, which the participants developed and filmed during the camp.
